The Demand for Cuban Cigars

Cuban cigar is often depicted as one of the finest products to come out of the said country. This speaks a lot about the product’s fine taste and good quality. However despite the acclaim of the Cuban cigar it has long been regarded as one of the hardest products to procure. However hard it is to get these cigars, there remains a large demand for it particularly cigar smokers. Thus the Cuban cigar market remains a very profitable venture, especially the popular brands like Montecristos and Coronas Especiales, which is rumored to be a personal favorite of Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
The belief most people have is that Cuban cigars are banned from trade on UC soil. But the truth is, there are just certain restrictions on the import of Cuban cigars, and it is not entirely illegal to distribute the said products. In recent years the Department of Justice of the United States changed the embargo on Cuban products, thus it is allowed to import cigars although on a limited amount. It is now even legal to import cigars of up to 2 boxes particularly for personal use.
However there have been cases wherein large businesses found selling or trading substantial amounts of Cuban cigars were fined. But these are very rare cases. In fact hotels and casinos usually sell Cuban cigars without having no problems at all.
With the demand for Cuban cigars it is no surprise that there is now a black market for the said products.
