Mitchell Johnson
Mitchell Johnson has burst onto the international scene. He made his debut against Sri Lanka in test cricket, for the first test at the Gabba. He has been a regular in the one day side for over a year now. His pace is improving and he gets good swing.
Originally Johnson was from Queensland where he was scouted by an Australian selector when playing high level club cricket. Since then he has revelled under the coaching of the top Australian coaches and is becoming a force. The Post Warne and Mcgrath era does not look to bad with Johnson and Lee developing into the best bowlers in the world.
Johnson needs to keep maturing, and keep tight lines. He is becoming smart as a bowler. Recently against Jayasuriya he realised that the short balls were being punished. So he relied on swing and the next over he bowled, he got the Sri Lankan big hitter back in the hut. A lot of the future success for Australian cricket rests on Mitchell Johnson's shoulders, equal weight with Brett Lee. He could excel, being only 22. A bright future looks to be taking shape. His fastest ball ever bowled was around the 151 km/h against India in the ICC champions trophy of 2006. He is constantly hitting that speed now and remains fast in every session for five days of test cricket.
