Who does Pakistan appoint as Captain? They go with Shoaib Malik who is a young captain over the previously experienced Younis Khan, and the aggressive Shahid Afridi. Younis has turned down the captaincy in the past. But he still has a good record and a good temparement which was seen as a positive. Malik seemed to be the right choice. He was a young, utility player who seemed to be a good thinker. However half way into the India series it is evident the captaincy is affecting his batting. And his captaincy is getting very defensive. Well Afridi, i don't think he has the mental capacity or determination to be able to captain Pakistan in test cricket. He also just opted out of the test series against India due to stress and mental tiredness. Geoff Lawson wants to get the best out of his team because there is a lot of talent in Pakistan cricket. However i think whoever captains this nation has to be agressive with there field placings. The future is only going to show whether there is a change or not.
